How to save a Facebook post or reel and actually find it later

Facebook's Saved list fills up quietly. A recipe from a friend, a marketplace listing, a parenting tip, a reel you meant to send someone. Finding one later is mostly scrolling.

Where your saved posts are

Open the menu and tap Saved. Everything you've saved is there, along with any collections you've made.

Collections help, a little

When you save something, Facebook lets you add it to a collection. Do that consistently and you'll have smaller piles to scroll. There's still no proper search inside Saved, so a big collection is still a scroll.

Finding one right now

  • Use the filters. Saved can usually be narrowed by type, like videos or links, which cuts the list down.
  • Search Facebook for the topic. If it was a public post or a page, the main search may find it faster.
  • Ask the friend. If someone shared it with you, the quickest route is often your messages.

Keep the ones that matter somewhere searchable

Copy the post's link (tap Share, then Copy link) and save it to SaveSearch with a short note about why. SaveSearch keeps the words it can read and your note, so searching any word you remember finds it again. When Facebook won't share a post's text, SaveSearch says so and keeps the link and your note. You can paste the text in, or with Pro add a screenshot and it reads the words for you.

On iPhone or Android, tap Share, then choose SaveSearch. In any browser, paste the link at use.savesearch.app.
