How to find a TikTok you favorited (when you only half remember it)

You know the one. A guy explaining a spreadsheet trick, or a recipe with a weird ingredient, or a stretch for your lower back. You tapped the bookmark. Now it's buried somewhere in hundreds of Favorites, and TikTok has no way to search them.

Here's where to look and how to stop this from happening again.

Where TikTok keeps your favorites

  1. Go to your profile.
  2. Tap the bookmark tab under your bio.

That's Favorites. It's split into tabs for videos, sounds, effects and a few other things. Videos are what you want. If you've made favorite collections, they show up here too.

Can you search TikTok favorites?

No. There's no search box inside Favorites, so you're scrolling. It's in order, newest first, which helps a little if you know roughly when you saved it.

Ways to find it right now

  • Collections, if you used them. Tap a collection to cut the scroll down a lot.
  • Your watch history. If you never actually favorited it, it might still be in your watch history, under your activity in Settings. It doesn't go back forever, so check soon.
  • Search TikTok for the idea. The regular TikTok search is good at topics. Searching "lower back stretch desk" may surface the same video, or a near twin.
  • The creator's profile. If you remember the face or the voice but not the name, search a few words of the topic and look for them in the results.

Save the next one so it's easy to find

The problem isn't your memory. You remember the idea, but TikTok only lets you browse by when. So save the videos you care about somewhere that searches the words.

With SaveSearch you save the link and a few words of your own, like "back stretch, do at 3pm". When TikTok shares the caption, that's kept too. Later you search "stretch" or "3pm" and it comes back, with a line telling you why it matched.

TikTok doesn't always let anyone read a video's text. When that happens SaveSearch keeps the link and your note and tells you it's link only. Paste the caption (or, with Pro, add a screenshot and it reads the words from it), and it's searchable again.

From your phone today: tap Share on the video, then Copy link, and paste it into the box at use.savesearch.app. A proper share button is coming with the iPhone and Android apps.

The note is the whole trick

Every app forgets your reason for saving. Write it down. "Gift idea for Dad." "Use this hook in my next video." Future you will search for exactly those words.

Questions people ask

Where are my favorites on TikTok?

Open your profile and tap the bookmark tab under your bio. That is Favorites, split into videos, sounds, effects and a few other tabs.

Can I search my TikTok favorites?

Not inside the Favorites tab. You can only scroll it, or sort videos into favorite collections as you save them.

How do I find a TikTok I watched but did not save?

Try your watch history in Settings, under your activity. It only goes back so far, so if it is something you want later, save it somewhere you can search.
